Investigate native configuration first, a supported connector second, and bespoke development only for a demonstrated gap. An agency should explain precisely what it adds beyond the systems you already pay for.
| Platform | Public evidence relevant to a buyer | What still needs proving |
|---|---|---|
| ServiceM8 | Documents quotation follow-up automation. (support.servicem8.com) | Your configuration, message costs and exception handling |
| Commusoft | Publishes API documentation, with subscription requirements for private applications. (developer.commusoft.com) | Your entitlement and the exact supported operations |
| Simpro | Describes quote-related notifications and automatic triggers. (simprogroup.com) | Whether your proposed sequence can be configured correctly |
| Joblogic | Publishes specific conditions governing API and AI integrations. (joblogic.com) | Approval, permissions and the permitted workflow |
Ask your incumbent vendor and agency the same question:
Can you demonstrate this exact workflow in our account, including a customer reply, an unavailable appointment and a failed system update?
Compare total implementation effort, not just licence price. A native option may still need configuration and training; a bespoke option may solve a genuine gap. Neither should be selected merely because it carries an AI label.
